Warmed by the steady sun of Minas Gerais,
sweetness settles slowly, never rushed.

MINAS GERAIS

MINAS GERAIS

Minas Gerais is Brazil’s largest and most influential coffee-producing region, responsible for a significant share of the country’s total output and long recognized as the backbone of Brazilian coffee. Its vast landscape, varied elevations, and relatively stable climate have made it ideal for large-scale coffee cultivation over generations. Unlike regions defined by wild genetic diversity, Minas Gerais is shaped by decades of selective breeding, agronomic research, and farm-level experimentation. Producers commonly grow multiple cultivars—such as Bourbon, Mundo Novo, Catuaí, and Catucaí—often within the same farm or cooperative. As a result, coffees from Minas Gerais are frequently presented as regional or farm blends rather than single cultivars, reflecting a balance of consistency, volume, and quality that defines the character of the region.

RED CATUAÍ

Red Catuaí is a widely planted coffee variety developed in Brazil and now grown throughout Central and South America. Originally bred from a cross between Mundo Novo and Caturra, Red Catuaí is valued for its compact growth, resilience, and adaptability across elevations. While often associated with consistency and balance rather than rarity, careful cultivation and processing can reveal a clean sweetness and approachable structure that make Red Catuaí a cornerstone variety in modern coffee production.
